200 copies were printed by Sean Gordon Murphy, most were given away and approximately 40 were sold
Marvel approached Murphy who created the sketchbook without the publisher's permission. Marvel wanted to take ownership of the illustrations but Murphy refused. An agreement was eventually reached for Murphy to stop producing copies without legal action
