Synopsis

On Christmas Day, as Threnody feeds on the deaths of terminal cancer patients in Empire State Hospital, a holiday visit to Peter and Mary Jane Parker by MJ's Aunt Anna is interrupted when Peter's spider-sense goes off.  Pete finds Nate Grey huddled in a neighbor's garage, suffering from an attack by a mysterious assailant. Listening to Nate's tale, Peter suspects the attacker was Morbius, and Nate states he must find Threnody.  Elsewhere, while Madelyne Pryor and Sebastian Shaw discuss recent events (as Sage eavesdrops), Threnody roams a tenement housing addicts, feeding on their life energies.  She leaves, stalked by Morbius.  Nate, now sharing an empathic bond with Morbius resulting from the combination of his mutant powers and Morbius' artificial vampirism, tracks Threnody accompanied by Pete as Spider-Man.  Threnody arrives at her mother's grave at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx, and as she bares her soul, Morbius confronts her, telling her he believes hey are kindred hunters.  Nate and Spider-Man arrive and a conflict ensues.  Morbius flees, followed by Spider-Man [TBC in Peter Parker: Spider-Man #77] .  Nate tells Threnody she must decide if she wants to live as a stalker like Morbius, or if she will ask Nate for his help.  He leaves, and as Threnody kneels in misery at her mother's grave, Madelyne arrives, ominously searching for Nate.
