Synopsis

In Asgard, the Tournament of Titans will soon begin, and Odin sends out the call. From across all the worlds, the Beacon of the Brave calls to any and all who would take part in order to win a suit of golden armor. But somewhere in deep space, the signal is also seen by Loki and the Absorbing Man, giving Loki an idea for revenge. The night before the tournament, all the heroes go out to celebrate the coming games. Thor and the Warriors Three come across a group of men who are partying a bit too hard (even for Asgardians), and demand they cease their brawling. One of their number, Drom, proposes that they settle things at the tournament, to which all agree. In space, Loki sends his thoughts down to Midgard, to a forgotten temple in the heart of Asia. There, the temple shatters revealing the armored form of the Destroyer. During the games, the villainous warriors employ the use of spells, which are forbidden to win the pennant. During a personal challenge, the Destroyer has arrived after smashing its way through Heimdall and crushing Volstagg. Volstagg manages to sound the alarm to the rest of Asgard, and all the warriors assemble to stop the engine of destruction. Thor begins to batter the armor relentlessly, only for the Destroyer to strike back. The Destroyer is truly unstoppable unless the physical form of Loki can be found, which has been done. Balder returns after being sent out by Odin, and tells him where he is. Stopping time, Odin sends a beam of forgetfulness out across space, striking Loki, closing down his mind and shutting down the Destroyer as well. Odin is proud of all the warriors assembled, and announces that they are all champions. Each year at that very instant, all of their armor will glow as gold to remember their heroism.
