Synopsis

The Supergirl of this series is not the original, but is instead a synthetic being, created in homage to Superman. Her earliest memory is of a red-headed man, looking much like today’s Lex Luthor. She was then sent to Earth to help Superman fight a trio of alien terrorists. Horribly beaten in that battle, she reverted to what may have been her natural form: a claylike blank, whom Superman eventually nursed back to health. She then repaid the debt, helping Superman fight Brainiac in the “Panic in the Sky” storyline that ran throughout the Superman titles. Unfortunately, she soon fell in with this Earth’s Lex Luthor, who keeps her as something of a super-powered love slave. In this series, Supergirl is still discovering her powers, all the while denying that her sweetheart, Lex, is the monster people say he is. In time, however, she will discover that her “darling Lex” has some very dark plans for her.
