THE BIGGER THEY ARE Watched by Inspector Soames, Nightwing and Blüdhaven's "crimelord on the rise" Blockbuster get into an intense fight against each other. Nightwing came well prepared, but the confined space within the building makes it tough for him to stay away from the much stronger Blockbuster. The villain even withstands an electric shock by a taser and finally gets his huge hands around the neck of his opponent. But before Blockbuster can snap Dick's neck, Soames points a gun at him. He does not allow his boss to kill Nightwing, because that would draw Batman's attention on Blüdhaven and on Blockbuster's operation. Surprisingly, Blockbuster concedes and quickly develops an alternate plan to get rid of Nightwing once and for all. He shall "die like a hero" without raising further questions by his associates in Gotham. A little later Nightwing wakes up and he is surrounded by roughly a dozen members of the motorcycle gang "The Loners". Of course they think one man is easy prey, but Nightwing proves them otherwise and defeats the Loners one after another. Exhausted Dick makes his way home. In front of the apartment house he lives in, a beggar asks him for some money. Dick gives the man 50 dollars and offers more help if the man comes back sober in the morning. But sadly, the poor beggar will not get the chance. A few minutes later he gets beaten to death by an unknown, well-dressed attacker who obviously wants to clean his block from such lowlifes. In another location, Blockbuster kills all members of the Loners because they failed to dispatch Nightwing...
