While nursing Elena back to health, Maverick tells Chris some disturbing news about the Legacy Virus. Maverick kept vigil at Elena's bedside, who's encounter with Sabretooth had left her in a coma, severing their psychic bond. With the Legacy Virus he carries no longer in remission, his powers have gone out of control, burning his hands when he blasts his kinetic energy.
