In the Lands of Arran, the Magi must now obey a new law: to be registered and serve a human lord! For a year, they will live cut off from the world in the company of clerics and a group of fellow magical practitioners who have come to study at the library of Runic Magic there. But shortly after their arrival, a cleric is found dead, his body covered with Runes, after having left a strange message in blood on the walls of his cell... The two members of the Order will have to discover what is hidden in the bowels of the ancient monastery, if they wish to survive their year at the retreat!
