Despite the number on the front cover, there have been four issues of Libby Ellis previously published. Briefly, here's what happened: In the first issue, Libby Ellis the motorcycle fanatic me Jonny Goodman the mechanic, who helped her with an errand for Mr. Finger; retrieval of a stolen nuclear trigger. Libber offered Jonny his own motorcycle if he would join her in her new job, “collections and restorations” for the Fed and other interested parties. Jonny accepted. Next, Libby got mixed up with Rick Blue (a guitar man), Naz, (a new nihilist), and Stiletto (a manipulator), and the 1956 Gibson Les Paul they all wanted. She managed to retrieve the guitar before Naz could destroy it, then gave it to Rick, because his motives were pure (honest!). On the way home, chronicled in the third issue, Libby got side-tracked by a couple of motorcycle thieves and a lot of gunplay. An old friend managed to distract them with a story about Libby when she was riding for Helen Back and the Leatherettes, and how her father seduced her back into the fold with the offer of her own Harley. Libby caught up with the thieves and got her bike back. Last year's issue four Libby closed out her garage by her father, a Fed executive, who wanted her to find the “missing” nuclear trigger. Libby found out that the one delivered to Finger was a counterfeit, and that Stiletto had the real one and planned to explode it at a packed Rok concert. She (with Jon's help) managed to unravel the who mess without hurting anyone. All this happened in America, in the year 2037. Welcome to the future.
