"Immortal Truth" The JLI face the Cadre of the Immortal, who claims to be the legendary crusader Prestor John. Due to the Mahayogi's control over Maya, they are overpowered, leaving only Metamorpho free. As the Immortal prepares to sacrifice the heroes, Metamorpho discovers Dreamslayer and a host of alien technologies beneath the city of Saba. When he reveals this information to the Cadre, the Mahayogi releases Maya from his control and the Immortal kills him for his treachery. This gives Seneca, Osiris and Mohammed Ibn Bornu cause for concern and they turn against the Immortal, fighting alongside the JLI. The Grand Druid sees this and, determined not to relinquish his dreams of power, he spirits himself and his remaining loyal colleagues away. The Immortal then dies, killed from afar by his own master. Ibn Bornu leaves the scene also, but when the JLI get a priority distress signal from their JLA colleagues, Seneca and Osiris opt to join them, trying to atone for their misdeeds. Meanwhile, at the JLI Castle, Erewhon encounters Desaad, who warns of 'something' coming to Earth. However, looking up at the sky, he muses that the something may already be here.
