Flash is doing a weird excersice, he's trying to run at a speed that will enable him to see the electromagnetic waves by tuning onto their frequencies. Superman tells him to be careful. Later, while the other members of the Justice League are out in the Javelin, Flash recieves a message that some inexplicable is happening to the machines at S.T.A.R. Labs. Flash puts his idea to test. He attempts to zip to earth as an electromagnetic wave through telephone signal carrier, but dials the fax number instead. When he emerges at S.T.A.R. Labs, he's 2-D and flat. He spots some aliens who like himself are 2-D and are damaging the machines. He starts busting them. The other members cannot see the creatures and call the Justice League for help. They arrive only to find Flash tearing up the whole laboratory. They capture Flash and take him back to the WatchTower to revert him to his original dimensions. Hawkgirl and Martian Manhunter come back to S.T.A.R. Labs and find traces of alien bio-plasmic energy. They go back to the watchtower and make a report. Flash tells them that the aliens are already inside the Watchtower. GL uses depolarised light to reveal the aliens. A battle takes place with the aliens easily overpowered. They try to escape but Flash resets their equipments so that they go into a 1-D universe. He is then reverted back to his original form.
