John Carter and Kantos Kan continue their battle with the living skeletons from the previous issue. Tars Tarkas lies unconscious in a doctor's care with Sola and Dejah Thoris by his side. As the battle rages Tars Tarkas revives and joins the fight. In the course of conflict it is discovered that the living skeletons desire flesh to complete themselves.
