Synopsis

"The Choice and the Challenge!" Guest-starring Hawkeye, Mockingbird, and Tigra. Tony Stark stops by the Avengers' compound to tell Hawkeye that Iron Man (aka Jim Rhodes) is taking a leave of absence from the team! However while Tony is there, a distress call comes in from Tigra! Apparently she's trapped in a quinjet on a small Pacific Island with a large green dinosaur closing fast! Whoa, is that Godzilla? Maybe so! Hawkeye and Mockingbird scramble another quinjet and invite the original Iron Man to come along! But Tony's not so sure about going! Could the West Coast Avengers defeat Dr. Demonicus and Godzilla without the former golden avenger? The odds would be stacked against them! Cameo appearances by Jim Rhodes and Bethany Cabe. Flashback cameos by Captain America and Obadiah Stane. First 65¢ issue. (Notes: Dr. Demonicus previously appeared in Shogun Warriors (1979) #14.
