Steven has been captured by the combine and they get ready to reclaim the Haywire armor and the brain implant Steven uses to summon it; Of course, Steven will be killed in the process, but that's not really a concern; One problem: the head of the combine is revealed to be Steven's father, who faked his death fourteen years previously; Anyhow, before the surgery can begin, Steven awakes and transforms into Haywire and, after causing much death and destruction, flies away; Meanwhile, the combine's Japanese allies are sick of waiting for the armor and decide to take matters into their own hands.
