Synopsis

FUENERAL FOR A HERO This is the "Hal Jordan Funeral" issue. Writer Ron Marz and artist Darryl Banks assembled an impressive cast of DC's stars to say farewell to Green Lantern Hal Jordan in this memorable issue, available in both a regular news stand and deluxe tombstone edition, and including a second feature by writer John Broome and artist Gil Kane. After the heroes of the present day gathered in an emerald construct church to pay their respects to the life of a hero, Swamp Thing used his mastery of plant life to create a green paradise in the once desolate Coast City. With the added tribute of a green eternal flame from former Green Lantern Alan Scott, and an energy construct sculpture of Hal in his prime by the new Green Lantern Kyle Rayner, Hal's legacy was set to shine for ever. Hal Jordan died while destroying the Sun-Eater and restoring the sun in The Final Night #4. "Telling Tales" acts as a framing story for "S.O.S. Green Lantern!". This is the funeral for former Green Lantern Hal Jordan/Parallax after he dies a heroic death. Includes appearances by virtually anyone who is anyone in the DC Universe.
