Synopsis

"The Day 100,000 People Vanished" The Guardians warn Hal Jordan of the culprit responsible - Sinestro, a renegade Green Lantern who had been stripped of his power and banished into the anti-matter universe of Qward. In this tale by John Broome and Gil Kane, Jordan surrenders himself for the safe return of Valdale's people when he realizes Sinestro's agenda was to capture him and exploit his power ring's weaknesses. While trapped inside a yellow bubble encasement, Green Lantern used his ring to move the carbon dioxide particles he exhaled to speed up a clock's hands, fooling Sinestro into thinking that the ring's charge had expired and allowing Jordan to defeat him with just minutes of power to spare.
