Despite his considerable physical decline, Caramon undertakes a quest to save Raistlin from evil. Can Caramon even hope to save his twin brother? At the same time, the beautiful cleric Crysania also goes on a mission to redeem Raistin... Will she meet success or be drawn into evil as well? Can a reunion of the Companions be far behind? Two years have passed since the events of the War of the Lance. Raistlin Majere meets with Crysania, a Cleric of Paladine who seeks to turn him from his path of darkness but finds herself attracted to him. Caramon is now a drunk who is kicked out of his house and sent to escort Crysania to Raistlin's Tower. On their way, Crysania is attacked by Lord Soth a Death Knight on the orders of Kitiara, the Dark Lady. Raistlin then reveals his plans to Dalamar, his apprentice who is a Dark Elf. He tells Dalamar that he knows of his mission as a spy for the Robes assembled at Wayreth. Raistlin's plans of overthrowing the Dark Queen Takhisis has begun.
