SOMETHING SCARY While Batman deals with Scarecrow's fear device at the Gotham Zoo, Robin confronts the Master of Fear himself at his hideout. Both heroes struggle against the Scarecrow's well placed fear inducing devices, but Batman eventually overcomes the object and Robin finds a place to hide from Scarecrow. Once free from the grip of fear, Batman goes looking for Robin. Meanwhile, a murder attempt on Harvey Bullock takes place at the GCPD Headquarters, but the clumsy officer is saved thanks to his own incompetence. However, the killers report back to Mayor Hill and misinform him about Bullock's actual murder. Moments later, Batman arrives at the Scarecrow's hideout, where he locates Robin and they use one of Scarecrow's devices to counter the effect of the machine. Without the influence of fear, Batman and Robin are able to defeat the Scarecrow and the criminal is once again captured. IN COLD TYPE Green Arrow uses one of the Printer's Devil's fires to burn through the net, then extinguishes the fire before it can get to the gas pumps. The Printer's Devil escapes, but has a confrontation with GA the next day in front of the Star offices, and gets captured. Green Arrow unmasks the Devil, who proves to be Tommy Doyle, one of his fellow columnists. Doyle confesses that he hoped to devalue the Star through his terrorism and thus make it less valuable to Burdick. Later, Ollie Queen learns that Burdick has indeed decided not to buy the Daily Star.
