Synopsis

NIGHT OF THE MONSTER MEN  PART 3  Batwoman asks everyone for a report. Spoiler mentions the little space they have at the evacuation site and tells Batwoman that their connection is breaking up. Nightwing is nearly to Blackgate. Alfred mentions that neither he nor Duke are chemists and that Tim would have had this figured out by now. Clayface is having a hard time holding his many forms together. Gotham Girl is at Blackgate against Batman's wishes.   Tensions are rising between the citizens with Spoiler and Orphan. A little boy looking for his parents (Mama Jill and Mama Liz) is pushed over by an angry citizen.   Nightwing arrives at Blackgate; Batman tells him that he has to get Gotham Girl out of there due to her being emotionally compromised still from the attack by Psycho Pirate. Creatures are attacking inmates and latching onto their faces.   Batman, Batwoman, and Clayface are in the streets. Part of a building starts falling over some citizens; Clayface, shape-shifted as a cop, pushes them out of the way and the building part lands on him. The citizens are at first grateful, then scared when they see Clayface shifting, but are distracted by the giant monster attacking the city.   Back in the cave, Spoiler and Orphan decide to split up to help the outnumbered cops keep order in the escalating angry mob. Spoiler tries to contact Batwoman to update her on the situation, but is unable to make contact due to too much static. Batman, still reeling from the death of Red Robin, is worried about Spoiler and Orphan and wants to go to the cave to see what they can't be contacted. Batwoman tells him that he's needed where he is, and that he should trust Spoiler. Meanwhile, Spoiler and Orphan figure out that the sludge covering the people must be communicating and acting as one giant organism. They figure out that if they get the air hot enough in the cave, it should be able to stop the air-borne plant volatiles (and thus the communication) so that they can get the people out of there.   Back at Blackgate, Nightwing points out to Gotham Girl that as she's fighting the monsters, she's also hurting people. Gotham Girl runs into the mama monster. Nightwing tries to stop her, but she rips the mama apart in a rage. Blood and parts from the monster cover Nightwing and Gotham Girl; it transforms them into monsters.   Batwoman tries to contact everyone, but only Batman and Clayface respond.
