Synopsis

THE UNDERSEA HIDEOUT Several criminals have disappeared from Gotham City and Batman suspects that their disappearances are linked to the urban legend of a place called the "Aqua-Lair", which is supposed to be the ultimate secret hideout for criminals. While chasing a notorious criminal on the Batmobile, the Dynamic Duo realize that the thug vanishes at the waterfront and they decide to investigate the case using their batosphere. Batman and Robin descend on their batosphere to the depths of the sea, following the trail left by an unknown submarine, but they're unable to catch up with the vehicle, because it has gone further than any sub-vehicle in existence has ever gone. After this failed attempt, Batman and Robin keep an eye on the waterfront and finally confront the criminals who are descending towards the Aqua-Lair. The Dynamic Duo are overwhelmed by the thugs and they are forced downward with them. At the Aqua-Lair, the criminals try to eliminate the heroes, but Batman has made a fantastic deduction which helps him find a way out of the secret lair and warn the police about the secret hideout. When the criminals are arrested by the police, Batman explains that the Aqua-Lair was never a hidden place in the deepest parts of the ocean, but it was located on a ship at Gotham Bay and that the thugs used decoys that sink under the sea to throw away the police efforts to find the secret hideout.
