Various people begin cleaning up the destruction of the soup kitchen caused at the hands of Karen Webster from last issue. Ned Smith arrives on the scene, and begins searching for Black Condor. The Condor is buried under debris, where Webster has telepathically brought his consciousness to a paradise of her creation. Smith discovers the Condor’s body, and tried to pull him out from under the debris. The telepathic link between himself and Webster temporarily weakened, Condor comes out of the hallucinatory paradise and uses his telekinetic abilities to blast the debris off his body. Webster leaves the scene of the soup kitchen, and runs into the men hunting her: agents of the Society of the Golden Wing. Webster puts up a fight, but she is no match for the Society’s armored troops. However, just as the troops are ready to haul her away, the Condor comes in to rescue her. Condor takes her away, where they revisit Webster’s telepathic paradise for one last goodbye. Meanwhile, in the offices of the Society of the Golden Wing, Creighton Kendall chews out his subordinates for letting both Webster and Condor escape, when Webster returns and blasts a chuck out of the Society’s sky-rise.
