THE NOBODY Bruce Wayne is accosted in his office by a dying homeless man, who explains to him that he learned Bruce's secret identity by chance, and attempted to sell it off to a criminal. The plan backfired though, as he received nothing for his trouble, except for the injury which is killing him, and now seeks some small measure of redemption by warning Batman that his secret will be sold at an auction later. As the man dies, he explains that he hoped selling the secret would make him a "somebody", and doesn't understand why Wayne, who is rich and famous and thus already a "somebody" in his eyes, would want to be Batman. As Batman deals with the auction, he mulls over his answer.
