Synopsis

FAVORITE THINGS During the Christmas season, Batman furiously combs Gotham for a group of thieves that have stolen many things from Wayne Manor, including Bruce Wayne's most cherished possession. Eventually, he determines that the thieves are known as the "Chessmen", and have barricaded themselves in an abandoned factory. Unfortunately, a glory-hounding police chief had found the gang first, and his careless approach has given them several policemen as hostages. Batman infiltrates the factory and, with the help of his bat-summoning sonic transmitter, subdues the Chessmen.  Two days later, Batman finds the man whom the Chessmen had entrusted their loot to, only to learn that the man has already returned all of the stolen items. Upon realizing that the man is truly repentant and only helped the Chessmen out of financial desperation, Batman withdraws without further incident, leaving the man and his family a roll of cash.   Batman returns to Wayne Manor and looks upon Bruce Wayne's favorite thing: a toy train, the last Christmas present his parents had given him before their murders.
