FLYER PART 1 A number of Bats have turned up dead in the Batcave, killed by some sort of spiked weapon and Batman deduces that someone is trying to send him a message. Alfred is concerned that Bruce's activities as Batman give his master more satisfaction than what they should, but Batman ignores his butler's concerns. The Dark Knight goes on patrol at night and stops several crimes across Gotham. Eventually, Batman is attacked by a man wearing a special suit that allows him to fly. After an spectacular confrontation in the sky, Batman manages to take down the enemy by damaging the suit. The man falls to the river and Batman dives to rescue him. Later, Batman shows up in the Batcave, carrying the unconscious body of his enemy with him. He restrains the man and drugs him with truth serum to learn about him. After removing the helmet, Bruce learns that the man's face has been damaged beyond repair, to the point of using a prostethic metallic jaw. The man awakens and reveals all his information to Batman and Alfred. His name is Curtis Eisenmann, the grandson of a Nazi scientist. Curtis' mother continued the work of his grandfather and developed technology to preserve the Nazi ideas. Curtis became a member of the GCPD, but was lethally wounded during the attack on Batman on his first year of operations, which caused him to lose his limbs and several other parts of his body. His mother recovered his body and used her technology to attach most of Curtis' remaining body to the special suit known as "Marauder". Since then, Curtis started attacking bats and the truth behind the dead bats is revealed. After Curtis ends his confession, the Batcave is attacked by a bigger, better version of the Marauder, which has located the secret location of the Batman and intends to destroy everyone inside.
