A thief is chased by the police all around Gotham city. As he jumps from rooftop to rooftop, Commissioner Barbara Gordon eventually catches up with him. At exactly that instant, Batman flies into the criminal and immobilizes him. Barbara is very angry and asks Terry to stay out of her way. Terry chides her lightly and goes away. As Barbara gets down to question the thief about a certain kidnapped child's whereabouts, his gaze somehow triggers unpleasant memories from Barbara's days as Batgirl. She remembers being doused with the "fear serum" in a fight with Scarecrow, and then an almost fatal fall from the top of a skyscraper. Her identity was compromised and her father was so angry that he set the police force on Batman. While her memories trouble her, Barbara is unaware that she is almost pushing the criminal over the side of the building. He screams in fear, and the police commander calmly asks Barbara to go home and take rest. more edit later...... Was reprinted in DC Comics Presents: Batman Beyond
