THE SHADOW OF THE BATMAN A small-time crook named Jeff tries to cajole his friend Barry into coming with him on a planned bank robbery. But after Barry relates two stories of Batman's crime-fighting career. The first story involves Batman during a riot in the Gotham Prison, where several inmates escaped to the nearby forest. One by one they were captured by the night and eventually, the Dark Avenger of the Night got them all, even with a bullet injury. The second story is one from Barry's personal experience, when he was part of an arsonist gang in Gotham. Barry and several other misguided men under the leadership of Jeremiah Jones had been burning old buildings and causing several damages to private property. Certain day, Batman learned that one of the fires has caused the untimely death of an honest man and he grabbed Jones into one of the burning buildings to face the consequences of his actions. After the building collapsed, Batman took Jones out and worked to rescues the man. After listening to the stories, Jeff decides to chuck the robbery plans and look for an honest job. THE IMPOSSIBLE MURDER! Batman and a retired police detective turned security guard solve the mystery of a detective's murder. ARTIFACT Bruce Wayne proves that an "ancient" artifact is a forgery. THE NERVOUS NEPHEW Alfred proves that the nephew of a friend's employer murdered his uncle and made it look like suicide.
