In the Batcave, Batman is talking to Alfred Pennyworth and reminisces about how perfect his choice of Cassandra Cain as the new Batgirl has been. But now a video has surfaced which shows a very young Cassandra killing a man with her bare hands. Alfred is not sure about the authenticity of the tape which gives Bruce the idea that it might actually be a fake. Looking closer at the video, Batman decides to travel to Macau to solve this case. Meanwhile, Batgirl has left the Gotham Clock Tower and immediately runs into a shooting. Three men in suites try to kill a man and are quickly taken down by Batgirl. The young man thanks Batgirl for her help. He seems to be able to look right into her mind and first, he is a little puzzled, but then he touches her head with his finger and everything feels fine again. But that is not the case for Batgirl, because now she actually is able to listen and to understand what the young man is saying. Obviously, the young man has psychic powers and somehow has repaired her deficiency to understand common language. Suddenly, an armed mercenary shows up and she is intent on collecting the bounty which is on the head of the young man. Batgirl wants to protect him again, but she is not reacting as natural as she normally does and receives a punch right into the face ...
