Synopsis

COLD SNAP, PART TWO Batgirl drives her way to a secret Government's lab outwitting every attempt to sidetrack her. Unfortunately the place has been already ransacked. Her friend Qadir reveals they took Project 760-B, a device able to influence people in trusting its wearer. Batgirl is flabbergasted at the fact her friend was helping build a mind-control gadget. She also learns the device has limited scope and needs two persons to operate it.   Whoever took the device covered his face, but Batgirl watches a security video and recognizes the thief's voice. He is Blacksun. He was estranged from his father, but maybe they are teaming up. As the Penguin used the blizzard to play hero, Blacksun stole the device.   Batgirl heads towards the Penguin's "Ice Float", which is serving as a public shelter, to find out their real intentions. Batgirl steps inside, falls prey to the trust ray and walks out until the effect wears off. Realizing the Penguin is wearing the gadget and Blacksun must be handling the trasmitter, Batgirl decides to switch tactics and go after Blacksun.   Batgirl tracks the transmitter signal down to an anonymous office building and discovers the Penguin intends to run for office. Then she is ambushed by Blacksun, who wears an improved suit and has been working out. Blacksun manages to lock Batgirl in a store room after setting a heap of cardboard boxes on fire. Nonetheless, Batgirl breaks out thanks to a spray can of nitrogen liquid and Batrope.   Batgirl heads back to the "Ice Float" and unmasks both Cobblepots. AS fighting them, Batgirl shatters Blacksun's mask and sees he is now disfigured. Blacksun blames her, and while he is being taken away, he asks what kind of face is her mask hiding.   Later, Barbara reflects. She's been operating in Burnside for a while, and time has left its mark. She isn't a kid anymore, nor she wants to be.
