Synopsis

SUMMER OF LIES PART 2 In Gotham General Hospital, Batgirl and Nightwing interrogate Mad Hatter. He has been brutalized by someone called "the Red Queen". Neither Babs nor Dick have heard of her before.   A riot suddenly breaks out, drawing their attention. A red-dressed nurse named Carly has gone mad and is beating her co-workers and tossing furniture around as calling herself "Red Knight". Batgirl quickly gleans she is being mind-controlled by the Red Queen. Babs and Dick shove her in a closet but can't stop her from hurting herself. Dick suggests that a MRI machine might sedate her.  In the past, Batgirl and Robin snoop around a private party -after sharing their secret identities-, but in spite of their suspicions nobody seems to be doing drugs until a strange song sounds. Suddenly, all high-schoolers get high. One of them freaks out and dashes off. Batgirl and Robin take him to Gotham Hospital General. Mysteriously, no drugs are found in his body.   In the present, both heroes tie Carly up and drag her to a MRI machine. Dick suspects someone wants to remind them what happened between them and the Mad Hatter the last time they faced him, ergo Carly is being controlled by nanobots. Batgirl and Robin lay Carly down on the machine and a nurse starts it up. However, something goes wrong: the machine gets out of control and won't let them turn it off until Carly is vaporized.   Later Barbara has analyzed the "residue" left behind. Carly's body composition was 50 to 70 percent nanobots. Barbara didn't know it was possible. Dick blames himself but Barbara argues it's fault of whoever set them up.   Batgirl forces herself to focus on the details of the case: Red Knight must be connected to Ainsley. The duo discovers Carly's maiden name was Philbert. Barbara knows that name.   In the past, Barbara comes over Ainsley's place. The older girl is working on nano-robotics. Her client is using nanotechnology to produce the ability to see sounds as colors, but some kind of software bug causes hallucinations.   Ainsley's cell rings and she talks with Dr. Philbert. Ainsley needs a prescription refilled, and Barbara offers to cover her shift as she goes to the doctor.   Later three suspicious-looking men walk into Barbara's workplace. Ainsley runs off in order to not be seen by them. Barbara becomes suspicious and finds out their company's address. Later Batgirl and Dick stake the place out. Whoever those men are, they hate Ainsley.
