Spider-Woman (Drew)

Creation & Design

Jessica Drew was created by writer Archie Goodwin and artist Marie Severin, first appearing in Marvel Spotlight #32 in 1977. She was designed to be a female counterpart to Spider-Man, with her own unique powers and backstory.

Early Years

Jessica's early years were marked by her upbringing in a laboratory where she was genetically altered with spider DNA. This gave her superhuman abilities, but also left her with a complicated identity and a desire to find her place in the world.

Character Development

Over the years, Jessica Drew has evolved from a character defined by her origins to a fully realized superhero with her own narrative. Her story arcs have explored themes of identity, empowerment, and the complexities of being a hero.

Spider-Woman has been well-received by fans and critics alike, praised for her strong character development and unique abilities.
