Red Lantern

Creation & Design

Atrocitus was created by writer Geoff Johns and artist Ethan Van Sciver, first appearing in 'Green Lantern' in 2007. He was designed to embody the rage and vengeance of the Red Lantern Corps.

Early Years

Atrocitus was one of the five surviving members of the planet Ryut, which was destroyed by the Manhunters. He became the first Red Lantern, fueled by his rage against the Guardians of the Universe.

Character Development

Over the years, Atrocitus has evolved from a one-dimensional villain to a complex character, grappling with his rage and the consequences of his actions, often finding himself at odds with both heroes and villains.
