Created by writer Marc Andreyko and artist Scott Kolins, Kate Spencer was introduced as a new character in the Manhunter series, bringing a fresh perspective to the legacy of the Manhunter name.

Kate Spencer was a prosecutor who took the law into her own hands after her experiences with the justice system led her to believe that some criminals could not be punished adequately. She became a vigilante, adopting the mantle of Manhunter.
