Daredevil was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett, with input from Jack Kirby. The character was designed to be a blind superhero who uses his other heightened senses to fight crime.
Early Years
Matt Murdock was blinded as a child by a radioactive substance while saving a man from being hit by a truck. Raised by his father, a boxer, he learned to fight and eventually became a lawyer, using his skills to defend the innocent by day and fight crime as Daredevil by night.
