Creation & Design

Cassandra Cain was created by writer Kelley Puckett and artist Damion Scott, first appearing in 'Batman #567' in 1999. She was designed to be a new Batgirl, distinct from previous iterations.

Early Years

Cassandra was raised by her father, David Cain, to be a deadly assassin. After escaping his control, she sought redemption by becoming Batgirl and fighting crime in Gotham.
